Overclock does increase single thread performance. Honestly, with an overclock on that cpu, you should be fine. I don't know a whole lot about overclocking gpu's, but I don't think it will make much of a difference.
Cool. I am too broke to get a mechanical keyboard, but I really want one.
Interesting use of the little heatsinks. Also, what kind of keyboard are you using?
This generation of amd chips have poor single thread performance, which is the reason behind the bottle neck in games. So, at least until Zen, Intel has superior gaming performance.
+1 for building the sketchiest pc I have seen in a while. Completely legal.
I am in love with the Mastercase
Nice, very professional looking. Someone in engineering is going to be happy!
Good for you, you can do basic math!
I know that feel bro. Still waiting for an end to both Vagabond and Berserker.
You can still always have a waifu.
Perfect for immersing yourself in Yung Lean
Just down vote the troll, he has been doing this on every build.
Be careful with the Skylake chips and some big aftermarket coolers. Because of their thinner design, there are reports of them bending due to the weight of big heatsinks.
It is a personal preference, but I would rather spend my money on a more powerful single gpu because it might not be as good now, but the potential for sli/crossfire is there in the future, and you will have increased vram
Did you play Zork? I think that came out on Commodore 64.
This isn't a titan x, it is the original titan, so there isn't going to be much bottleneck
Back in 8th grade, I was gaming on an Athlon and a GTX 7600gt
Upvoted for profile pic
Because it is the most obnoxious looking psu I have ever seen
Are you a SAD BOY?
Ok, interesting. Thanks for answering my question!
Pink can be pretty cool too. I just like dark, majestic purple builds
I WANT TO SEE MORE PURPLE BUILDS
Why do you have a Cooler master air cooler listed if you are using a custom loop?
Besides that, this is a damn fine build. Please add more pictures!
In Mother Russia, you don't build computer, computer build you!
The 4x70k series Intel cpus did not overclock well because of their poor TIM. The 4x90k series (Haswell-Refresh) series was their successor and had improved TIM.
I agree. You can't spend that much on a water cooling loop and not get a backplate.
Beautiful build. I love these kinds of micro atx builds. My recommendation is to wait at least a year for upgrading to v2. By then Nvidia will have released their Pascal series and AMD might have released whatever they are working on. New processors are coming out around then too. 4k gaming is going to become the norm. What a great time to be a PC builder.
Moral of this story: Always read your manual, kids.
Ubuntu doesn't have to load as many files, so the v300 is probably fine for boot speeds, but when you fill them up they can slow down to almost mechanical hard drive speeds.
I have a very similar pc and almost 200 hours logged in Arma 3. It is a very temperamental game. 60fps on ultra is not really possible on any system if you plan on playing multiplayer, but standard single player missions I usually run at the Very High preset with motion blur off and I get around 40fps on average.
The 4771 was released a couple months after the 4770 and offers a slight boost over its predecessor. Basically in-between a 4770 and a 4790.
Possibly unpopular opinon; I liked how Lelouch died at the end. It felt fitting for the series like the ending for Evangelion.
My Athlon x4 860k gives me readings of 80c at idle. One time I got it to 130c while playing Arma 3
Where can I find a girlfriend who will play video games with me? They don't have them in stock at best buy.
I feel like this comment sums up how I feel 99% of the time on this website.
Fiji and Fuji are two different places.
There is also a river in Japan named Fuji
Those are some wonderful keycaps.
It looks like you have the wrong PSU listed. I would look into that, but besides that this is a nice build.
The subreddit r/cablemanagement is a good place to check out of you need some inspiration.
Hahahaha Earthworm Jim approves of this!
This is true, but it doesn't seem like they are planning on fixing these issues. If you feel like playing that game then, sadly, you will need the 12gb.
Is no one going to talk about the Intel heatsink?
You're welcome. I have a friend who just bought a Black and I have a Blue, so I was interested in the difference as well.
A custom loop is the next thing I want to do. Maybe I have just spent too much time on r/watercooling.
Just googled it and here is the first result. According to this, the Blue is faster and quieter, but the Black will hold up longer before failing.
More ram is starting to make more sense. The Star Wars Battlefront beta used ~7 gb of ram and the new Batman needs 12gb to run smoothly.
I am pretty sure that the difference in speed between the blue and black isn't enough to justify the price difference. If I were you, I would google it.
Nice job! I love the h440 case. I personally would put in some lighting strips.
