Hi Bspang89 if you plan on changing it soon then I agree go for the bigger power supply but if that is a year or more down the line and you want to have a quiet PC in the meantime I would go for what you need now, powerr supplies are not that dear to change compared to the cost of new graphics cards!
Hi, I am not running very high end games but all the software hat used to run slow on my old alienware computer runs a lot faster so I suspect it is the setting up (or not) that also play a big part in speed of response of a computer
Hi, yes, the system I build is listed by PC part picker as using 306W and I bought a 380W PSU.
Hi, I am used to Windows 7 professional hence chose it out of habit rather than specific requirements - I am new to PC building and wanted to ensure that at least the OS was the same as at least I know my way around it!
Hi, if you use the PC partpicker tool it tells you what the total power consumption will be for your chosen build.
hi, it is great building your own PC. I have just finished my first one so I do not know a lot more than you, so I won't comment much on the build you suggest other than I recommend you go for windows 7 not 8 as 8 is resource heavy and not something I would risk a new PC on, and I would get a smaller power supply as the parts you picked are less than 250w - 350 would give you spare enough, unless you plan on upgrading something/s in this PC that is going to double its power consumption? Changing those two things will take the cost down too.
lol thanks miniclipgamer!
thank you, Enigmadanoob!
I looked up the suggested build by awesomeyi and made some adjustments mainly the bigger case and also I prefer a dedicated soundcard. It is still within my budget. Please can someone take a look and let me know if they see any problems with it or if this is all good. thanks.
forgot to post the build:
Thanks Leaxa992 the case seems to be what I am after for the new PC as it is a full sized and quiet one. I will check the case will work with the parts awesomeyi suggests.
Thanks. I am a newbie so I think I would rather go for the full size case to make my life a little less stressful when assembling it. I saw the suggestion by Lexar992 of the full size case I assume that case will work with the parts you suggest.
Thanks for your help.
Thank you Philip!
Hi again, sorry, since I last looked you have added this. A massive thank you to you!
There is no mention of which soundcard was used. Was the soundcard integrated with the motherboard? If there was a soundcard that was separate I could not see mention of it please could it be added as a part needed.
Hi, great video!
I am looking for a video for the install of the os to a home built computer such as this and the setting up of it - is there a video guide already on this site or will yours be the first when you have done it?
